Religion: it raises a lot of questions. Why do people believe in God, gods, or spirits? What’s at the root of religious violence? Do rituals and beliefs serve any practical purpose? SimulatingReligion.org is for a unique group of people: those who tackle these and related questions with the tools of computer modeling and simulation (M&S).
A number of mutually unaffiliated institutions and research groups around the world are using computer simulation tools to study religion scientifically. In time, we hope SimulatingReligion.org will become an information clearinghouse and meeting place for researchers interested in the intersection of religious studies and computer simulation, everywhere.
